Back in 2000 - 2001 with the Taliban in control of Afghanistan, opium poppy production was nearly eradicated. It was such a sudden phenomenon that it took the world by surprise:

The chairman of the Central Asia Institute at Johns Hopkins, Frederick Starr, said the West, especially Europe, had been inexplicably slow in recognizing developments in Afghanistan. “The reduction is probably the most dramatic event in the history of illegal drug markets, not only in scale, but also in the fact that it was done domestically, without international assistance,” he said. He added that Europe, where most Afghan heroin was consumed, had been ‘’stunningly dysfunctional” in helping Afghan farmers who have sacrificed livelihoods and in moving to prevent new fields from springing up in other poor countries.”

The UN touted the Taliban’s success in the spring of 2001:

“A new tour of Afghanistan’s poppy-growing areas by UN officials has confirmed that there is almost no cultivation in Taliban-controlled areas this year.”

No doubt it put a real crimp in the CIA’s black budget.

The fascists subsequently pulled 9/11, and the Taliban were offered “either a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs”, meaning an ultimatum to submit to foreign dominance or else. The US invaded and we’ve been involved in a war of occupation for almost eight years.

Funny about the opium poppy production ever since - about every year it’s a record harvest - Read this: Afghan poppy crop harvest sets another record

Funny also that the mightiest military in the world backed by hundreds of billions of dollars can’t quite manage to stem the record opium poppy harvests like the ragged Taliban managed to do back when.

Not only that, according to the US occupiers all of a sudden it’s the Taliban who’s profiting from the opium production now:

“NATO has failed to stem the vast opium trade in Afghanistan that helps finance Taliban insurgents despite an eight-year effort, the top US military officer said on Thursday.Countering narcotics networks is crucial to weakening the Taliban and allied insurgent groups, Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a Senate hearing.”Strategically my view is it has to be eliminated,” Mullen said.”We have had almost no success in the last seven or eight years doing that, including this year’s efforts,” he said.Afghanistan produces 90 percent of the world’s opium, the raw material for heroin across Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East while cash from the trade helps insurgents buy weapons, according to officials.”

Let’s just re-cap this argument… (1) Taliban takes control, opium production goes to nothing. (2) US takes control, opium production soars to all-time highs. Therefore, it’s the dirty Taliban bastards that are causing this.

If you believe that, there are some really nice little wars you might like to finance, too.

Major portions of the preceding came from here.

I have two quotations that go a good long way toward answering the question.

First, from Robert Anton Wilson - he probably stole it from someone else; that’s what great artists do: “If voting could change the system, it would be illegal. If not voting could change the system, it would be illegal.”

Next, allegedly from Iosip Dzugashvili (aka Joe Steel aka Josef Stalin) - again, probably stolen, and no doubt you can find predecessors without huge effort: “Voters determine nothing, counters of votes determine everything.”

Oh, and one more, one that I saw posted on a bulletin board at our county courthouse the other day (although it was gone the next day - no doubt the bulletin board police noticed it): “When Democracy Becomes Tyranny, I Still Vote - the Gun Owner’s Credo”.

I’d say that the answer is: Maybe; it depends on how you vote and when, and on who counts the votes and how.

Any questions?

We’re talking about all of the FRNs her… although “a” dollar of course refers to the one with a picture of George Washington and the words “One Dollar”.

So far as I can tell, such a piece of paper “is” not a dollar. It “is” a promise to PAY a dollar, sort of… but it’s not actually a “dollar” itself. Maybe it doesn’t even have a legal requirement to be traded for a “real dollar”, although it seems that it would have.

First, in legal terms (my understanding, anyway), a “note” is a promise to pay. The question is, to pay WHAT? And to WHOM?

If you research the history of paper money, and particularly paper money in the US, you will find that - at least in the last hundred years, there have been two main types of paper money: the FRN and the US Treasury Note. The latter carried a promise to pay in silver, to the bearer. The former merely states that it is “legal tender”.

Ultimately the answer to the subject line’s question depends on what the FRN promises to pay, to whom, and how… and assuming the answer to the “what” part of that question is “a dollar”, an additional question arises: what’s a dollar?

This may seem like an idle question.

It is not.

Let me elucidate.

You are a human being - man or woman. Let’s ignore the question of age and not slip into dichotomy of child and adult… whether you are ten years old, twenty years old, thirty years old, older or younger than those - matters not: you are male or female and therefore man or woman. Let us leave it at that.

Let us consider another, say General Petraeus - he’s still around, as I write this. Is General Petraeus a man, or a woman? We may say that General Petraeus is a man, may we not? I proceed on the basis that we may indeed do so.

We’re almost there. Bear with me a few moments longer.

Now. Let us consider another General. This time, let’s say… General Electric. Is General Electric a man, or a woman?

Well?

I say that the answer to this question is: Neither; General Electric is neither man nor woman.

You might say General Electric is a “company”, or a “corporation”, as many people would.

With a little knowledge (always dangerous, doncha know) you might add one more label: General Electric is a person. Yes. Under “the law”, for certain purposes, a corporation is defined to be a person. After all, “corporation” means, quite literally, “something made into a body”.

We are now back to the original question - What is a “person”?

Are you a “person”? Most of us would say “yes”… and yet… clearly there is some difference between considering yourself a “man” or “woman” and considering yourself a “person”. This difference is, or may be, extremely important. In what context are you, as a “person”, and General Electric, as a “person”, the same? And in what context are you different from General Electric?

Consider: you can be charged with murder, brought to trial, and even killed if found guilty. General Electric, on the other hand, cannot. Obviously, there is some form of “the law” that applies to you as a man or woman but does not apply to you as a “person.”

There must then also be some form of “the law” that applies to both you and General Electric, as “persons”, but does not apply to you as a human.

The key to finding the differences appear to lie in finding the meaning of “person”.

If you have ever had anything to do with theatre, you are probably aware that the character of a role is often described as its “persona”, and you may also be aware that the term has generally been used for the “mask” worn by the player of the role. In fact, in the development of the Greek theatre, the actors wore actual masks when performing, and the very word “persona” means, literally “to sound through”, coming from the fact that the player spoke wirds through the mounth-hole in the mask.

The important point to take with you from this is that the “person” is fictional. The “person” does not exist as a real, actual, living and breathing human being… only as a fiction,

Remember this fact, the next time some fictional entity invites you to appear “in person”.

Quaternion Physics

Maxwell says:

“The proposed Theory seeks for the origin of
electromagnetic effects in the medium surrounding the electric or
magnetic bodies … The properties attributed to the medium in
order to explain the propagation of light are -

1st. That the motion of one part communicates motion to the
parts in its neighborhood.

2nd. That this communication is ot instantaneous but
progressive, and depends on the elasticity of the medium as
compared with its density.

The kind of motion attributed to the medium when transmitting
light is that called transverse vibration. An elastic medium
capable of such motions must be also capable of a vast variety of
other motions, and its elasticity may be called into play in other
ways, some of which may be discoverable by their effects. …

… if we look for the explanation of the force of gravitation
in the action of a surrounding medium, the constitution of the
medium must be such that, when far from the presence of gross
matter, it has immense intrinsic energy, part of which is removed
from it wherever we find the signs of gravitating force. …

… The equations of this paper … show that transverse
disturbances, and transverse disturbances only, will be propagated
through the field, and that the number which expresses the
velocity of propagation must be the same as that which expresses
the number of electrostatic units units of electricity in one
electromagnetic unit, the standards of space and time being the
same. … …the … theory … restores the medium
[luminiferous ether] … and certifies that the vibrations
are transverse, and that the velocity is that of light. With
regard to normal [longitudinal] vibrations, the
electromagnetic theory does not allow of their transmission.
…”.

I have no idea what happens if you click the link. I’m assuming that it goes to google and performs an all-new search - which means that what I’m seeing right now (I’m on a Firefox browser tab, looking at a google search result, and I hit the “Scribefire / BLog this page” to get here) is similar to but not necessarily (in fact, I think, not very likely either) what you’ll see if you click it. I’m looking for info on a book

and the first link I see is to a page with a serious description, in english, of the material in that book:

“Biophotons - The Light in Our Cells Marco Bischof 522 pp., more than 160 illustrations, 5 color plates, extensive bibliography and index. …
www.transpersonal.de/mbischof/englisch/webbookeng.htm ”

but unfortunately, the book itself hasn’t been translated into english yet… but I’m pushuing forward, because maybe it has been in part and on the ‘net although not dead-tree published yet…

Anyway, look at it, because here’s the bottom line:

DNA molecules shine. They emit light, and they also collect it.

It’s better than that, though: the light is COHERENT. That means it can (and does) carry INFORMATION, just like the light from lasers, just like the light in Fiber Optic network cables.

Fritz Popp, a German biophysicist, (re-)discovered this light. It had been discovered earlier by Russian biologists, and it’s likely also by Wilhelm Reich (bions, orgone).

Huh? What about it?

Well, for starters - how come there is a whole passel of laws relating to genetic discrimination, basically in the nature of “you can’t do it”, but there isn’t a single law regarding memetic discrimination?

Not only does it exist in fact, it’s vicious - if you are carrying the wrong set of memes, sometimes as little as a single meme, that can be used to disqualify you from consideration for everything from entrance to a government building, to getting service at a restaurant!

It’s time we all stood together on this issue!

Even if you’re not a victim of some unfortunate memetic trait, just as you wouldn’t want to be discriminated against, you absolutely must “do unto others” and not only refrain from memetic discrimination (or MD, as we like to call it) but encourage others to do likewise and to join us in fighting against this horribly disabling dread disease: MD - Memetic Discrimination.

Thanks for reading this. A signup sheet will be available soon. Please help us!

Just to help prove the point… go search for memetic discrimination… you get ONE, count it, ONE result:

CHARACTERISTICS OF GOOD PROPAGANDA

As the science of mass control evolved, PR firms developed further guidelines for effective copy. Here are some of the gems:
- dehumanize the attacked party by labeling and name calling
- speak in glittering generalities using emotionally positive words
- when covering something up, don’t use plain English; stall for time; distract
- get endorsements from celebrities, churches, sports figures, street people…anyone who has no expertise in
the subject at hand
- the ‘plain folks’ ruse: us billionaires are just like you
- when minimizing outrage, don’t say anything memorable
- when minimizing outrage, point out the benefits of what just happened
- when minimizing outrage, avoid moral issues

Keep this list. Start watching for these techniques. Not hard to find - look at today’s paper or tonight’s TV news. See what they’re doing; these guys are good!

So…

Who invented this stuff?

Edgar Bernays - click on the link at the top to get started on learning more about this - you’ll find even more information that will help you immunize your mind against propaganda - and that includes both the bullshit being spurted from both the Left and Right…

By the way - ‘dja ever wonder where that Left and Right crap came from? You’ll read stories about where people were sitting in the English Parliament, the French Chamber of Deputies, and so on… it’s all bullshit. Where it really came from is this: it’s the pockets in THEIR pants. That’s right, THEY keep THEIR lackeys in THEIR pockets… brown suits in the Left, blue suits in the Right. You could look it up.

The material quoted below comes from the link at its top. I strongly urge you to use the link and read the entire article. Besides having much additional information, it also has numerous links to other articles from a wide range of sources.

Majesterium and the Tipping Point

No project is more interesting at the moment than a curious project in
one of the world’s most remote spots, Svalbard. Bill Gates is investing
millions in a seed bank on the Barents Sea near the Arctic Ocean, some
1,100 kilometers from the North Pole. Svalbard is a barren piece of
rock claimed by Norway and ceded in 1925 by international treaty (see
map). (Click on the link - there’s a map on it… and several other images.)

On this God-forsaken island Bill Gates is investing tens
of his millions along with the Rockefeller Foundation, Monsanto
Corporation, Syngenta Foundation and the Government of Norway, among
others, in what is called the ‘doomsday seed bank.’ Officially the
project is named the Svalbard Global Seed Vault on the Norwegian island
of Spitsbergen, part of the Svalbard island group.

    …

Now is it simply philosophical sloppiness? What leads the Gates and
Rockefeller foundations to at one and the same time back proliferation
of patented and soon-to-be Terminator patented seeds across Africa, a
process which, as it has in every other place on earth, destroys the
plant seed varieties as monoculture industrialized agribusiness is
introduced, and at the same time invest tens of millions of dollars to
preserve every seed variety known in a bomb-proof doomsday vault near
the remote Arctic Circle ’so that crop diversity can be conserved for
the future’ to restate their official release?

The subheading of the above article summarizes: “Bill Gates, Rockefeller and the GMO giants know something we don’t.” Indeed.

Recently Nature featured an article on Mammoth tusks:

Bullet-like pieces of what is thought to be an ancient meteorite shower have been found embedded in mammoth tusks and bison bone.

The discovery of the 2 - 5 millimetre holes left by meteorites opens a window into a impact event thought to have happened over Alaska and Russia tens of thousands of years ago. And it could provide a whole new way to chart impacts from space.

The fragments, found in seven mammoth tusks and the skull and horns of a Siberian bison, match the geochemical composition of iron meteorites. “We think that the micrometeorites came from an air-burst of a meteor 30,000 to 34,000 years ago,” says Richard Firestone, co-author of the study and a chemist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California. “We think a wave of meteoric material sprayed the region.”

And there’s also the Holocene Impact Working Group:

Most astronomers doubt that any large comets or asteroids have crashed into the Earth in the past 10,000 years. But the self-described “band of misfits” that make up the two-year-old Holocene Impact Working Group say astronomers simply have not known how or where to look for evidence.

Scientists in the working group say the evidence for such impacts during the past 10,000 years, known as the Holocene epoch, is strong enough to overturn current estimates of how often the Earth suffers a violent impact on the order of a 10-megaton explosion. Instead of once in 500,000 to 1 million years, as astronomers now calculate, catastrophic impacts could happen every few thousand years.

At the southern end of Madagascar lie four enormous wedge-shaped sediment deposits, called chevrons, that are composed of material from the ocean floor. Each covers more than 100 square kilometers with sediment hundreds of meters deep.

On close inspection, the chevron deposits contain deep-ocean microfossils that are fused with a medley of metals typically formed by cosmic impacts. And all of them point in the same direction - toward the middle of the Indian Ocean where a newly discovered crater, 29 kilometers, or 18 miles, in diameter, lies 3,800 meters, or 12,500 feet, below the surface.

The explanation is obvious to some scientists. A large asteroid or comet, the kind that could kill a quarter of the world’s population, smashed into the Indian Ocean 4,800 years ago, producing a tsunami at least 183 meters thigh, about 13 times as big as the one that inundated Indonesia nearly two years ago. The wave carried the huge deposits of sediment to land.

But notice the dates: 30,000 to 34,000 years ago. And we also have 8,200 years ago. Is there a connection? Yes, all three numbers 30,000, 34,000, 8,200, and even 4,800 fit into an approximate 4,200 year cycle (within error) coinciding with time periods going back from the present.

So, do Bill Gates, Rockefeller and the GMO giants know something we don’t? All of the evidence, cross-referenced with a psychological analysis of political and corporate leaders, argues very strongly that they do. So the difficult question with which we are faced is not: ‘When are we going to do something about climate change?’ but rather: ‘When are we going to wake up to the fact that our political and corporate leaders have never acted in our best interests, and to trust them on “climate change” not only risks our own future but that of countless generations to come.

So…
